Our Spring News
Spring in Blackheath means many things…
Waratahs and Rhododendrons, magpie swooping season, longer, warmer days (if our luck holds), and hey, a whole lot happening at BArtS. We have a packed calendar of exhibitions, events, and celebrations over the coming months. Read on and save the dates.
Garden Update
You’ve probably noticed that the large, hazardous tree in our garden has now been removed. It’s sad to see such a mature tree go - we know - but we’re relieved to no longer be living under the threat of falling branches. Good news is, new trees will be planted soon.
A huge thank you to Ian English and his crew for their fantastic work on the landscaping. It’s great to watch the garden taking shape.
Important changes to parking at BArtS
We’ve received a request from the Rural Fire Service (RFS) to not park along the fence outside their building or on the paved area behind it.
The RFS has right of use up to our front door, but have generously allowed us continued use of the area in front of the building. Let’s respect this and avoid jeopardising our limited parking.
Please remember:
Park like you know others may arrive after you.
Leave access clear to park parallel to the Clay Shed.
Once our parking space is full, we have permission to park on the corner block of Station and Railway Streets - please use it (see map below).
Members Drinks + Studio Pop-Up
Our recent Members Drinks event featured a pop-up exhibition from the Collage, Mixed Media, and Assemblage Group.
The artworks were rich in story, medium, and meaning. Thanks to everyone who took part. This new initiative, where studio groups showcase their work during Members Drinks, has been a proper hit. We look forward to seeing more of these pop-ups to come.
