Our June news
At Barts we create many things…
Paintings, pottery, prints, drawings and sculpture, but most importantly it’s the people power that creates the community that is the heart and soul of our beloved organisation.
Come and join us this this weekend and celebrate the special feeling of being part of a precious creative space at the top of the mountain!
On Saturday afternoon, we have our members and friends drinks/social/get together where we will be able to catch up for chats and nibbles but most importantly get to preview the Bartchies, our lighthearted portrait exhibition now in its 2nd year.
On Sunday, we are opening our doors and sharing BArtS with our wider community. Bring along your family, friends and neighbours and discover all that BArtS has to offer!
Open Day 2025
If you’ve ever wanted to explore all the options available at BArtS, here’s your big chance. Our Open Day will showcase all that BArtS has to offer - and you’ll get to see the Barchibalds!
Meet the Studio Groups – Chat with representatives from our various studio groups. You can ask all the questions you like and get a sense of how each group works. We bet you’ll find a group that’s right up your street.
Watch demonstrations – See artists in action working in all manner of media.
Create something yourself
Make a ceramic wall hanging in the clay studio ($10 between 10am-1pm)
Make your own badge
Everyone Can Draw with Julie Paterson (10am-1pm). Designed to loosen you up, free you from perfectionism and ditch your inner critic. Come and spend some time contributing to the huge communal artwork we will be creating together.
See the Bartchibalds Exhibition – the best portrait show of multiple species you are ever likely to see.
Nosh on something delicious
The team is serving up soup, bread and cheese (a proper artist’s lunch), and for the sweet-toothed amongst you, coffee or tea and cake.
We look forward to seeing you up at BArtS this weekend!
