BArtS Newsletter – June Update
Participants at Monika Scarrabelotti's recent 5 week workshop 'Sculptural Creations in Clay'
As we approach the winter solstice, it's wonderful to see BArtS buzzing with activity despite the colder weather. Members continue to fill our studios, catch up with friends, explore new creative ideas, and make the most of everything our centre has to offer. The sense of community and enthusiasm has been especially heartening this season.
One of the most noticeable recent improvements is the completion of the new veranda outside the kiln shed. This versatile space has already transformed the area and provides a fantastic, sheltered spot for gathering, working, or simply enjoying a break. We encourage everyone to make it their own and use it however they wish. In the coming weeks, we'll be installing clear drop-down blinds on three sides, making it an even more comfortable all-weather space.
With this project now complete, we can turn our attention to the surrounding landscape. Plans for the garden are being finalised, and we'll soon begin further planting and landscaping works. If you enjoy gardening and would like to lend a hand, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact us at info@blackheathart.com.
You may also have noticed the new sliding door installed on one of the toilets. This upgrade provides a more accessible option for members and visitors and is another step towards making our facilities welcoming and easy to use for everyone. A fresh coat of paint is still on the to-do list, but that will be happening shortly.
