I’m a teacher, painter and Urban Sketcher, and I’ve taught overseas as well as here in Australia, on tours and as a demonstrator, most recently at the AsiaLink Sketchwalk in Phuket, Thailand, last August. This is a 4-day event held every year in a different Asian country. There were 800 participants from 24 countries. Fortunately our groups were limited to 30!
I’ve taught private groups for about 12 years, children and adults, and taught at Waverley Woollahra Art School (children and adults), North Sydney community Centre, Pine Street Centre in Chippendale, and run workshops for the city of Sydney, two local schools and more.
I have a BA in Visual Communication, have a Certificate in Adult Teaching and Learning from UTS, and a TESOL certificate (I taught English to overseas students for a few years at UNSW Institute of Languages).
I enjoy a number of aspects of teaching: the joy when students grasp an idea or suddenly make progress, the fun we have as a group, the serious and more light-hearted sides of running a class, the sense of passing on my knowledge and skills, and the social side too.
I hope to make new friends at BARTS and connect with the local community.
