Veronique Sellies started ceramics 25 years ago at the Canberra Pottery Society and has studied at ANU, Hornsby TAFE and Brookvale. Her pottery is influenced by her Mediterranean up bringing in the South of France.

My pottery is influenced by my Mediterranean up bringing in South of France with a love for rich earthly colours and my training as a Civil Drafter that conditioned me for precision and accuracy. This is one of the reasons why I love Saggar firing as the process is very meticulous, yet I have no control over the result, giving me a balance.

My work is mainly wheel thrown pottery but also enjoy and teach hand building. Since we have moved to the Blue Mountains, I have been inspired to create my whimsical animals and garden sculptures. What I love about ceramics is that it is a field where you never stop learning or discovering, the possibilities are endless.
